...will be a time of renewal and forgiveness with God.

According to news from the Archdiocese of Boston, the 2025 Jubilee officially opened on December 24, 2024 at 7pm, with the rite of Opening of the Holy Door of the Papal Basilica of St. Peter by the Holy Father-Pope Francis, who presided over the celebration of the Night Mass of the Lord's Birth inside the Basilica. The year will end in Rome on January 6, 2026.

Archbishop Richard Henning also officially opened the Jubilee Year in Boston on December 29, 2024 at 11:30 am at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. The year in Boston will end on December 28, 2025.

Our Blessed Andrew Phu Yen Parish has been selected as one of 10 churches for pilgrims to visit and pray during this special Holy Year 2025.

A Jubilee Year is a time for forgiveness and renewal of our relationship with God. We are exhorted to conversion, prayer, repentance and renewed faith. As Pope Francis recalled, “the door of God's heart is always open; let us return to him. Let us return to the heart that loves us and forgives us."

ST. CLEMENT GIVING TREE

Advent invites us to light the candle of hope, receive peace, and spread the love of God who comes to us through poverty. He comes to the weak, supports the suffering, and brings peace to those who are hurting. So what do you think when God comes to these less fortunate people through us?

The Elizabeth Peabody House has been working to help refugee children and low-income families in the Somerville and surrounding areas. This year, our Parish is helping this charity program. The items listed above are the items they need this year, please be generous to our neighbors.

We will place a donation box at the back of the church and will accept these gifts until December 14. Even though the gifts are small, those silent, warmth gestures of charity are enough to light a candle of hope for families and children in difficult times. Thanks again for your generosity and support.  More information to follow.

Miscellaneous: Mittens, Winter hats, Socks, Scarfs, Small Toys for all ages, Gift cards,  Hand and Foot warmers, Gloves.

On Sunday, February 2, 2025, in an atmosphere filled with spring colors, a solemn concelebrated mass to celebrate the Lunar New Year was held at Saint Clement church of the Blessed Andrew Phu Yen parish at 11:00 a.m.  In the joy of the Lunar Year Day, Father Francis Huy Pham presided over the mass and wished all parishioners a peaceful, joyful, and grace-filled new year. Attending the mass were concelebrating Priests, Seminarians, Sisters, and families of parishioners in the parish with other communities gathered to offer thanks and pray for God's blessings and a wonderful new year. The traditional costumes and colorful flowers added to the solemnity.

After mass, everyone was invited to the parish's gym to attend the celebration party. The beautifully decorated hall, cheerful music, and delicious food prepared meticulously and thoughtfully made the parish's Lunar New Year festival more special and kept the unforgettable moments of the beginning of the year in everyone's hearts.
