According to news from the Archdiocese of Boston, the 2025 Jubilee officially opened on December 24, 2024 at 7pm, with the rite of Opening of the Holy Door of the Papal Basilica of St. Peter by the Holy Father-Pope Francis, who presided over the celebration of the Night Mass of the Lord's Birth inside the Basilica. The year will end in Rome on January 6, 2026.
Archbishop Richard Henning also officially opened the Jubilee Year in Boston on December 29, 2024 at 11:30 am at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. The year in Boston will end on December 28, 2025. Our Blessed Andrew Phu Yen Parish has been selected as one of 10 churches for pilgrims to visit and pray during this special Holy Year 2025. A Jubilee Year is a time for forgiveness and renewal of our relationship with God. We are exhorted to conversion, prayer, repentance and renewed faith. As Pope Francis recalled, “the door of God's heart is always open; let us return to him. Let us return to the heart that loves us and forgives us."
